Sorry, Alex Honnold fans—this isn’t the place for tales of free soloing cliff faces without ropes.

Reflecting on years of travelling the world I wanted to start capturing my stories and photos in one place. Free and Solo encompasses how I approach my travelling experiences. As a single 40 year old I am lucky enough to be Free to go where I want, when I want. And while I sometimes manage to recruit a travel buddy along the way, I’ve never let going Solo stop me from seeing the world.

Whether this ends up being just a space for me to reminisce or something that others actually enjoy reading, I’ve loved putting this little project together. If it inspires even one person in a similar boat to take the leap and travel alone, that would be the cherry on top.

I’ve done my fair share of cockroach-infested hostels, but these days, I prefer a more comfortable way of travelling—so expect more boutique hotels than bunk beds. After seven years in Australia, I’ve become a full-blown coffee snob, so I’m always hunting for the perfect flat white. I'm also privy to a wine or three.
